List of Car Seats That Turn 360 Degrees

Previously, I published a post on the 5 Best Swivel Car Seats for the money. But I’ve noticed that many caregivers aren’t aware that more and more car seat brands these days are making rotating car seats.

It used to be Maxi Cosi and Cybex, but there’s a growing list of brands that you should definitely check out. Here’s what you’ll get by the end of the reading session: 34 car seats that revolve 360 degrees. No matter where you live, you’ll likely find an option you’d like to try out.

Why I Put Together A List of 360˚ Swivel Car Seats

Even though the first rotating car seat (it was for adults, not kids) was invented decades ago in the 1960’s, modern swivel car seats for kids are a pretty newish development.

Maxi Cosi gave us the Axiss a few years back, an option that rotated not 180˚ or 360˚ but just 90˚. Since then, Maxi Cosi’s created other rotating models, but so have other brands.

If you search for the best rotating car seats, your search engine will most likely surface Evenflo, Nuna, and Cybex. But it’s not like these are the only brands that make and distribute this life-changing invention.

I put together this list of rotating car seat brands to place more options in your hands. This may not necessarily make your decision making easier, but you’ll at least have a bunch of choices to consider before buying.

By the way, why do so many parents and other caregivers today invest in expensive rotating car seats when they could get massively cheaper non-rotating car seats that do the job?

Expecting a Baby? Consider a 360˚ Swivel Car Seat

With a few exceptions, swivel car seats typically cost over $400. They’re expensive, but more and more caregivers are choosing them over standard infant car seats and convertible car seats.

The most important reason to get a rotating car seat is that it comes in an easy-in-easy-out design. When getting baby into the backseat for rear-facing seating, a car seat that turns removes pain and discomfort so that you enjoy the task rather than dread it. It does more for you and your baby so that your back can do less and relax more.

Besides that, many convertible options are an install-it-and-forget-it affair. They come with one belt path instead of two. If you install a 360-degree swivel car seat with a seatbelt, you won’t ever need to reinstall it facing in the other direction. You just turn the seat to the direction you want it to face, and it does your will.

Options that rotate 180 degrees such as the Baby Jogger City Turn aren’t typically a onetime install. They normally rotate towards the door in one mode, usually the rear-facing mode, but they don’t swivel while in the forward-facing mode.

If you want parenting that’s chock-full of convenience and comfort, definitely get a car seat that turns 360 rather than 90 or 180.

14 Best Rotating Car Seat Brands (And 34 Models)

Europe offers a tons of choices to caregivers when it comes to car seats that swivel. US parents can access a bunch of these 360-degree car seats, and it’s good that the list is growing steadily.

Australia’s car seat safety laws have yet to evolve to accommodate swiveling car seats, and Canada says to think twice before buying a non-Canadian car seat of any kind.

Not surprisingly, most of the car seats on my list are designed for the European market and are made to European safety standards. If you read through the entire list, I bet you’ll spot something that piques your interest.

  1. Maxi Cosi (UK)
  2. Peg Perego (a popular Italian brand)
  3. Nuna (A Dutch-founded company)
  4. Britax (UK)
  5. Cybex (originally a German brand but now owned by a Chinese childcare products manufacturer, Goodbaby International Holdings Ltd)
  6. Evenflo
  7. Cozy N Safe
  8. Graco (US)
  9. Silver Cross Baby (UK, has had royal family links for over a century)
  10. Jané Concord
  11. Chicco (Italian roots, present in at least 120 countries)
  12. Joie Baby (UK)
  13. Baby Jogger (US)
  14. Orbit Baby (US)

1. Evenflo Swivel Car Seats

The company that owns Cybex is the exact same company that owns Evenflo. This company’s name is Goodbaby International, a China-headquartered childcare products manufacturer.

This company offers a whole slew of really cool while still highly functional car seats, but the only model that swivels 360 degrees is the Evenflo Revolve360 Gold.

I keep insisting that the Evenflo 360 Revolve is the best rotating all-in-one car seat for the money. I recently reviewed the Evenflo Revolve360 here.

Check Evenflo Revolve360 Price on Amazon

  • Height range: 17″ to 57″
  • Weight range: 4-120lbs
  • Has a booster mode (high-backed booster)
  • Not FAA-approved

What’s unique about the Evenflo 360 Revolve is that it has a highly adjustable and generous 5-point harness. With the top harness slot located at 19″, I challenge you to find a rotating car seat that fits taller children better.

It’s not the cheapest deal there is, but it’s the best balance between price and value.

2. Cybex Rotating Car Seats

Cybex is one of the most famous car seat brands ever. If you’re wondering which country Cybex is from, it was founded in Germany by a young dad named Martin Pos in 2000. However, it merged with another company called Goodbaby International Holdings four years later in 2014.

It’s hard to say that Cybex is a German car seat manufacturer anymore. It’s more of a Chinese company now and I bet none of the seats are manufactured in Germany.

Here’s a list of 5 Cybex Swivel Car Seats

  • Cybex Sirona S Convertible Car Seat: The best-known Cybex swivel car seat, the Sirona S comes with a load leg and rotates 360 degrees. It’s heavy and bulky just like other swivel options, but with a 29″ measurement front-to-back, it’s a tad more compact than others. Here’s a review of the Cybex Sirona S 360 Car Seat.

  • Cybex Sirona Z2 Convertible Rotating Car Seat: rotates 360 degrees, i-Size ready, for kids 45-105cm tall/17.72″-41.33″
  • Cybex Sirona SX2 360 ISOFIX-compatible Car Seat: Height limits: 61-105cm for toddlers
  • Cybex Sirona S2 i-Size: 61-105cm, for toddlers
  • Cybex Cloud Z i-Size 360: A Cybex infant car seat that rotates 360 degrees, range: 45cm-87cm/17.72-34.25″, extra large UVP50+ canopy, Y-shaped harness straps, which means it’s not a 5-point harness but a 3-point harness, the Cybex Cloud Z i-Size 360 is the cheapest infant swivel car seat on the market

One wonderful thing about many Cybex car seats is that they offer the SensorSafe feature. This technology comes integrated in the chest clip and alerts you any time you leave baby in the car for more than a minute.

And if baby heats up, you get a notification via phone or car receiver. The same goes for when baby unbuckles the chest clip.

3. Baby Jogger 360 Car Seats

Established in 1984, Baby Jogger is a truly American car seat brand based out in Richmond, Virginia. As to whether the company actually manufactures its car seats in the USA, that’s hard to say. Most companies these days make their seats in outside of the US but sell them in the US. And it’s not just car seat makers.

Baby Jogger is best-known for their city strollers and all-terrain strollers, but they’ve also done quite a bit of work in the car seat space. And yes, Baby Jogger car seats are safe, as safe as other properly safety certified choices out there.

But this company says it goes out of its way to conduct car seat tests whose requirements even exceed that of the federal government. They like telling everyone that their car seats meet the TRUE Test Plus, a self-formulated safety standard that supposedly tests car seats to “reality under extremes.” But it’s their own standard, and who knows whether this claim is true or not?

Let’s simply say their seats are safe. But does the Baby Jogger Make rotating car seats? Yes, Baby Jogger makes different kinds of car seats, BUT only one option turns, and it doesn’t even turn 360 degrees.

It swivels 180 instead, and you can’t access the swivel feature forward-facing because it’s not designed to swivel in this seating mode.

BTW, is the Baby Jogger City Turn FAA approved? Yes, the Baby Jogger City Turn is FAA-approved BUT not in the rear-facing mode.

And how long do Baby Jogger car seats last? Most Baby Jogger car seats last 7 years from date of manufacture. However, the Baby Jogger City Turn lasts up to 10 years.

  • Turns 180 degrees
  • Weight limits 4-50 rear-facing, 22-65lbs forward-facing
  • 28lbs heavy
  • FAA-approved, ONLY forward-facing use

4. Graco 360 Car Seats (Only Rotates Rear-facing)

Graco Baby car seats have a wide and ever-growing fan base…because they work. Graco’s been in the game for 80+ years now, and they sure know a thing or two about car seats and strollers.

Graco is an American car seat brand founded in 1942 as Graco Metal Products. It’s based out in North Carolina and is a part of Newell Brands.

But does Graco make rotating car seats? Yes, it does. At time of writing, Graco Baby have only one rotating car seat namely the Graco Turn2Me All-in-One Rotating Car Seat.

Check Graco Turn2Me Price on Amazon

The Graco Turn2Me is a 360 swivel option, but it doesn’t work exactly the same way as other 360-degree options.

Let me explain: car seats that rotate full circle usually do this in both rear-facing and forward-facing seating positions, but not the Graco Turn2Me All-in-One Car Seat. The Graco Turn to Me rotates 360˚ rear-facing BUT does the Graco Turn2Me rotate forward-facing?No, it doesn’t rotate at all forward-facing.

  • Swivels 360 degrees rear-facing ONLY
  • Weight limits: 4-100lbs, rear-facing: 4-40lbs
  • Height limits: up to 49″ forward-facing and up to 57″ in booster mode
  • High-backed booster mode at age 4
  • Weights just 26lbs, one of the most lightweight swivel car seats on the market
  • Offers Graco’s famous SnugLock installation, you hear a click when it rotates into the correct position
  • Has a load leg. Learn more about load legs here.
  • Available in black, gray, and even purple

5. Orbit Baby Rotating Car Seats

Not so many years ago, Orbit Baby was really down and almost out. But the brand had a great comeback in 2020, a year that saw mostly trouble.

They sell all sorts of really nice strollers (albeit a little pricey) and car seats, but which models revolve 360 degrees? Only one car seat from this brand revolves 360 (or revolves at all). And this is the Orbit Baby Infant Car Seat.

It’s a rear-facing-only 360-degree revolving car seat, and it’s like other infant car seats in the sense that the base is detachable. It’s a removable and portable seat, and it pairs up really nicely with Orbit strollers such as the G5 and G3 stroller. No adapter needed to mount car seat onto stroller BTW.

There are two versions: version costs $480 at time of writing while version 2 (the G5 Merino Wool Infant Car Seat) costs $500 or $20 more than the regular Orbit Baby G5 Infant Car Seat. These are essentially the same car seat except that the latter has Merino wool fabrics.

Unique features: The G5 offers caregivers the StrongArm Knob, a knob that you turn to create enough torque to secure and tighten the base onto the backseat.

It’s the easiest-to-install car seat I know of. Also, this seat NEVER forward-faces. I recently reviewed the Orbit Baby G5 here if you’d like to learn more about it. Oh, this one weighs 13.8lbs, definitely heavier than the typical infant-only car seat but too heavy. And it’s FAA-approved, too, so that you can hop on a plane with it baby in tow.

6. Maxi Cosi Rotating Car Seats

Maxi Cosi is an old hand when it comes to making rotating car seats. The company’s first rotating car seat, the Axxis, came out in 2007. But the Axxis spins 90˚.

However, Maxi Cosi made its first-ever 360˚ swivel car seat in 2014. This was the Maxi Cosi i-Size AxissFix 360 and afterward the Maxi Cosi AxissFix A which also meets fully EU’s i-Size car seat safety standards. In total, this brand offers 5 options that revolve 360 degrees.

The i-size standard ONLY relates to ISOFIX car seats and only works in i-size-ready vehicles. Older vehicles may not be i-size approved, but newer models are. And yes, UK car seat laws allow i-size car seats.

What is Maxi Cosi i-Size? A Maxi Cosi i-Size car seat is a car seat designed and manufactured to the 2013 EU car seat safety standard ECE R129.

This standard aimed to improve car seats’ protective ability as far as side impacts, and instead of using weight-based limits, it uses height-based limits, and this makes finding the right size car seat for your LO.

Below is a list of Maxi Cosi car seats that turn 360 degrees.

5 Maxi Cosi 360˚ Swivel Car Seats

*These options have a maximum height limit of 41″ (105cm). They allow for extended rear-facing, but they’re limited in term of forward-facing seating.

For example, the Cybex Sirona S has an upper limit of 49″, which beats all these Maxi Cosi options. And the Evenflo 360 Gold, an American 360-degree turning car seat, has a max height limit of 49″.

7. Peg Perego Swivel Car Seats

An Italian company founded in 1949 by Giuseppe Perego, Peg Perego makes baby gear that keeps drawing heaps of praise from adoring caregivers. And yes, this brand now offers consumers a safe car seat that swivels a full 360 degrees.

I’m talking about the Peg Perego Primo Viaggio 360 Car Seat. Height range: from birth to 105cm. One beautiful thing about Peg Perego car seats is that they’re actually made in Italy as opposed to some sweatshop somewhere in Asia.

It features a rotating i-Size base and is ISOFIX-friendly. Other unique features include its 6-position adjustable side-impact protection (ASAP).

Then there’s the Blind Lock System, a mechanism designed to make sure a passenger seating next to this car seat can’t by mistake release/unlock the car seat.

It also features a load leg, an extra component that’s been found to increase protection.

8. Nuna Baby Swivel Car Seats

Founded in 2007, Nuna Baby is a baby gear company with Dutch roots and has become a household name across the world. And this is no accident.

This company’s made tons of safe and high-quality baby-focused products including safety certified strollers and car seats. You won’t find many frustrated parents who are fans of Nuna products. These products comply to US’ CPSIA standards as well as EU standards EN71 and REACH regulations.

But the only car seat from Nuna that revolves 360 degrees is the Nuna Revv Convertible Car Seat, probably the nicest-looking and most stylish turning car seat ever.

Even though the listing says this is a long-lasting option, the majority of little passengers are unable to fit in it past year 2 owing to its surprisingly low weight/height limits and harness height (only 14″ at the highest-sitting harness slot. Read a review of the Nuna Revv 360 Swivel Car Seat here.

9.Britax Rotating Car Seats

Britax is a British childcare products manufacturer with a strong presence in the UK, Australia, and USA. It makes all kinds of strollers, car seats, and highchairs, and it’s made quite a name for itself in many hearts.

The company boasts a few swivel car seats, some of which rotate 90 degrees and others that rotate 360 degrees.

Here’s a list of…

8 Britax Car Seats With 360-Degree Rotation

  • Dualfix i-Size:40-105cm, from birth to 105cm
  • Dualfix M i-Size:40-105cm for newborns and toddlers
  • Dualfix 2 R: Height limit not provided, but the listing says it works from birth to 4 years, which should be similar to 40-45cm to 105cm.
  • Dualfix iSense:61-105cm, fits toddlers best
  • Dualfix iSense Bundle:61-105cm for toddlers
  • Dualfix 3 i-Size:61-105cm for toddlers
  • Dualfix 3 i-Size Bundle:61-105cm for toddlers
  • Dulfix Z-Line: 61-105cm

All of them provide side-impact protection, anti-rebound bar, and 360-degree rotation. One unique feature all of them have is two lights on either side of the car seat shell so that the little passenger can read a comic book or whatever during nighttime travel.

Take a look at the image below to see the wonderful lights on these 360 swivel seats.

side lights on Britax 360 car seats

Also, Britax has one 90-degree rotating car seat named SWINFIX M i-Size.

10. Chicco 360 Car Seats

Like Peg Perego, Chicco boasts Italian heritage. According to their website, the  brand is spread out across 120+ countries, which is no small fete. It’s been around for over 6 decades now, which makes it an established brand.

It turns out that Chicco owns some rotating models, which seems to be a fast-growing trend now. It rotates 360 degrees, so the rotation system is usable forward-facing and rear-facing.

Even though Chicco has lots of presence in the USA, I didn’t find any US-market Chicco car seat that revolves. But I did find a few swivel options when I searched in the European marketplaces.

  • Chicco Seat2Fit i-Size Car Seat: Complies with R129 standards, Height range: 45-105cm, ISOFIX-friendly, load leg, & weights 32.5lbs, costs roughly $310.
  • Chicco SeatFit i-Size: ISOFIX-compatible, 360-degree swivel, Height limits:40-125cm/15.7″ to 49″. This one compares pretty closely to the Cybex Sirona S, Baby Jogger City Turn, and Evenflo Revolve360 as far as height limits. At 105cm/41″, you must use the seatbelt for installation. In the EU market, only the Cybex Sirona S rivals this car seat as far as forward-facing height limits.

It seems to me that swivel car seats in the European market have a surprisingly low height limits forward-facing. But the Chicco SeatFit i-Size 360 is an exception.

11. Joie 360 Swivel Car Seats

Joie (pronounce it ‘joy’) is another British swivel car seat brand to check out. The company makes strollers, infant car seats (aka baby capsules in Australia where Joie has a presence), and highchairs among other products.

Does Joie make rotating car seats? Yes, Joie makes a swivel option known as the Joie Spin 360 GTi. It provides improved side-impact protection thanks to it being an i-Size car seat. And like many car seats sold in the European market, it comes with a load leg for extra protection.

It’s an ISOFIX-only install, and you don’t need to reinstall via the seatbelt at any point. That’s unique as most swivel options installed via LATCH/UAS/ISOFIX rear-facing usually need to be reinstalled later to max out the rear-facing limit or for forward-facing use.

  • Height limits: 61-105cm, for toddlers
  • Has a load leg
  • ISOFIX-only installs

12.Cozy N Safe 360 Rotating Car Seats

Launched in 2006 in the United Kingdom by two determined treps, the Cozy N safe is the proud owner of a bunch of really decent car seats.

And do you know what makes car seats from this brand stand out from the rest? It’s because they have an extremely long lifespan. I’m not aware of any other swivel car seats that that carry kids up to age 12, but one rotating car seat from Cozy N Safe supposedly does this.

The Cozy N Safe Comet 360˚ Rotation Car Seat is for kids up to 12 years, which is exceptional. And the best part? It’s cheaper than most at £160/$183 (please check current price point).

I don’t know what to think of a price point this low for a car seat that’s supposed to last that long. The vast majority of turning car seats sold in the European market have a much shorter lifespan while costing significantly more.

And while many competitors of this seat accommodate kids up to 18kgs/40lbs, it stays useful until 36kgs/80lbs. That’s double the load capacity of most of its alternatives.

But I did find that this car seat’s made to the ECE R44 Standard as opposed to the newer ECE R129 which seeks to improve side impact protection.

Others are:

13. Silver Cross Baby 360 Turning Seats

Silver Cross Baby is one of the oldest British brands out there. It’s been in existence since 1877, and even Queen Elizabeth and others in the Royal family have purchased premium prams from Silver Cross for years. Think of it as it as the Rolls Royce of strollers, bassinets, and car seats.

Silver Cross Baby Motion All-Size 360 Rotating Car Seat: Height range: 40-145cm/15.7″-57″, up to 36kgs/80lbs, fabric made from soft and natural bamboo, a material that breathes well, from birth to 36kgs/80lb, ISOFIX-only (your vehicle needs to have Isofix points), load leg, hypoallergenic fabric, meets R129 standards, and it’s not too expensive that only royalty can afford it (costs roughly $430/ £375)

Like the Cozy N Safe’s Comet 360˚, the Motion All-Size rotates 360˚ and the manufacturers says it’s for kids up to age 12. If you’re wondering whether to get the Comet or Motion All-Size and money isn’t an issue, definitely get this one.

If you have a really tall kid, Silver Cross Motion All-Size is the real deal.

Expect great customer support from a company that’s served royalty for years.

14. Jané Swivel Car Seats

The first Jané pram was made about 90 years ago in Bercelona, Spain by a young dad who decided to build out a pushchair for his newborn.

Manuel Jané Vidal build the first ever pram after his father challenged him, and since then, the company that bears his name has been making strollers/pushchairs, bassinets/prams, travel cots, and car seats. The brand does business in over 30 countries from around the world but is still headquartered in Barcelona.

Its car seats are safe, but the company decided to set up a private car seat crash testing facility in Spain because it prioritizes kids’ safety. Some of the materials they use are recycled, which is great, and they even make some locally.

And beginning 2007, Jan’s gone out of its way to sensitize at least 10,000 kids to the importance of correct usage of child restraints. It sounds like a responsible company to me.

3 Jané Concord 360 Car Seats

  • Jané Concord Iconic R 360˚: 40-105cm/15.7″-41″, load leg, harness straps retract automatically, ISOFIX, harness covers
  • Jané Concord Iconic 2 360˚ i-Size:40-105cm/15.7″-41″, ISOFIX, load leg, harness covers
  • Jané Concord iTourer 360˚i-Size: Birth to 125cm)/15.7″ to 49″, ECE R129-compliant/i-Size, LED indicators to warn you in case of incorrect ISOFIX installation, most solidly built of the three options & really thick padding, comfy harness covers, crotch buckle cover, anti-rotation leg stores in the base

15. Recaro 360 Car Seats

Recaro is a German brand, and they had safety-related issues with the NHTSA in a few years back. They had to recall a bunch of car seats that they’d sold in the US market due to safety concerns. Learn about the recall here.

And yes, this company offers caregivers at least one rotating car seat, the Recaro SALIA 360 Swivel Car Seat.

  • Height Range: 40-105cm
  • 360-degree rotation
  • Meets i-Size standards
  • Offers great side-impact protection
  • Features multiple indicators that help you know if there’s any problem with installation, recline, rotation system, and whatnot

It costs around €450/$443, roughly what the City Turn from Baby Jogger costs. But the upper limit of 105cm/41″ is pretty low in comparison.

European Consumers Have More Swivel Options Than Anyone Else

If you live in Europe and are looking to purchase a car seat that swivels, you have more options to consider compared to someone in the US and Canada. From Maxi Cosi and Cybex to Joie Baby and Jané, parents in the UK and other European countries are spoiled for choice.

What Are the Best Swivel Car Seats in Australia?

Unfortunately, car seats that swivel aren’t legal in Australia. At least, I’m not aware of any rotating car seat that complies with Australian safety standards. These car seats typically come with a top tether, and Australian standards don’t allow this feature. If you’re based out Down Under and want to use this car seat, you’ll have to move to Europe, Canada, US, or other countries who’re OK with a swivel car seat using a top tether.

Best Swivel Car Seats in Canada?

There aren’t many Canadian certified swivel car seats. The US didn’t have many swivel car seats at all, but there’s a bunch of them available to caregivers these days. But it’s still pretty hard to find any options that turn in Canada.

At time of writing, the Evenflo Revolve 360 Gold is the only swivel car seat I know of that meets Canada’s stringent car seat safety rules. Generally, if you see a car seat that’s available for sale in the US and not in Canada, you can assume that you can’t legally use the seat in Canada.

In fact, Canada’s car seat and booster seat safety standards are so rigorous that Transport Canada warns caregivers against importing these restraints from anywhere outside of Canada.
